Eikon

Eikon is a young and growing community that brings together Christians from all over the Leek area. It is the response to a request from our young people for an opportunity to explore their spirituality in ways that resonate with their experience and culture. However, Eikon is not just for teenagers, it is for anyone who wants to glimpse with others what it means to follow Jesus Christ, the perfect ‘eikon’

Eikon is the Greek word for ‘image’. We believe that humanity is created in God’s ‘image’ – suggesting that we are God’s representatives on earth, through whom God may be seen. Jesus shows us to be in relationship with both God and our neighbour. Our usual mix of creative arts, prayer, dance, meditation, drama, music, chat, social action and cake provides us with the opportunity to encounter God and each other as we journey together towards God’s vision for us…
