Rob Bell…Drops Like Stars Tour

We plot, we plan, we assume things are going to go a certain way and then they don’t and we find ourselves in a new place, a place we haven’t been before, a place we never would have imagined on our own, and so it was difficult and unexpected and maybe even. Tragic and yet it opened us up and freed us to see things in a whole new way. Suffering does that— it hurts, but it also creates. How many of the most significant moments in your life came not because it all went right, but because it all fell apart? Its strange how there can be art in the agony…"The Drops Like Stars tour is a two hour exploration of the endlessly complex relationship between suffering and creativity— and I’d love to see you there." - Rob Bell

An Evening with
Syd Little

LATEST...From Ant & Dec`s Takeaway to BBCTV`s Cash in the Attic..
Syd Gospel Dates Now Available...PLUS DANA & Jimmy Cricket Dates Just Released....

“Brilliant and moving." “A smash hit!” “Outstanding & highly entertaining.”

Syd Little, one half of legendary comedy duo Little & Large, is celebrating the filming of a new DVD of his life story by offering new dates to churches for his popular Gospel show.

From Chris Gidney:

Recently featured on ITV`s prime-time Ant & Dec`s Takeaway as well as Big Brother and Granada TV’s Trust Me I’m A Holiday Rep, Syd is celebrating 10 years of touring churches with his Gospel show which has proved extremely popular across the UK, often as part of an Alpha Supper or as a special guest event.

Forty years in the fickle world of showbiz is a truly remarkable achievement and Syd, a veteran of stage and screen who entertained a whole generation with a 14-year primetime slot on BBC TV, invites his audiences to take a look behind the fame and glamour of a lifetime in showbiz and the faith that got him through the good and bad times.

In 1995 Syd`s eldest son Paul died of a drug overdose whilst his daughter had her life threatened when she was seriously attacked by an enraged boyfriend. “I have always been a churchgoer and believed in God, “says Syd “But it never had much to do with the reality of my life, and all the difficulties I faced. Now I know that whatever happens, God is with me, and helps me through. “

Syd makes space in his diary each year for his Gospel events alongside his new solo career with 2009 his busiest year to date. Having spent 17 weeks at the Royal Hippodrome Eastbourne last year, this summer will see him starring in a long summer season in Bournemouth alongside jet-setting off to the Greek Islands for the exclusive Thompson Gold Resorts, and the top Cruise circuits, with UK national tours, pantomime and TV appearances alongside. As well as his autobiography, Little by Little, his laughter book, A Little Heavenly Humour remains a best seller. His new DVD was released in March 2009.

An Evening with Syd Little is a fun-filled event of music and chat with a very moving gospel message at its heart. As Director of Christians in Entertainment, I have the privilege, and pleasure, to travel with Syd for these evenings and interview him about his life, his work and his faith. This entertaining programme is ideal as an outreach event to those who don’t normally attend church, and has been very successful over the past ten years, often proving to be self-financing. Look above and below for some of the responses we have received from churches who have recently hosted us.

Fresh from starring in his latest season, Syd will be continuing his Gospel tour throughout 2009 for you to host this special celebrity event at your church or local venue. If you think this might fit your church’s strategy for outreach, don’t just take my word for it! The person to contact for further info, availability, the technical requirements and costs - and to book an evening - is my colleague Nick Page at Shorehill Arts.

Nick will be able to offer you a variety of dates, and he also looks after events with other Christian celebrities including DANA, Jimmy Cricket, Dad’s Army’s Frank Williams, Wendy Craig, Cannon & Ball and DANA. Contact him at nickpage@shorehillarts.co.uk . I suggest you give him a telephone number and he will be very happy to call you and answer all your questions.

I would be delighted to bring Syd to share this special evening with you.
