Vacancy for a Community Chaplain

Saltbox wish to recruit a Community Chaplain to work as part of the existing team. Closing date 21st May 2008. For details click here. Full time (35 hours a week) or two part time job share posts.

The successful applicant(s) will provide support, housing and mentoring services to ex-offenders returning to the local area. Experience of supporting vulnerable adults and their families is essential. Knowledge and experience of working alongside different faith traditions is desirable.

Global Day of Prayer - Pentecost Sunday 11 May 2008

GDOP events will be taking place this Pentecost Sunday in 212 out of the 220 nations of the world.

An estimated 500 million Christians will be involved in GDOP events.

There are over 50 registered GDOP events in the UK.

25,000 Christians are expected to gather at Millwall FC's stadium in London at 3.00pm.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Gordon Brown, invited 100 church & prayer leaders to a two hour reception at 10 Downing Street to acknowledge the importance of the GDOP event & to thank Christian leaders for the community work that happens at grass root level. Thank God for such a significant occasion.
